Ilkley Choral Society (ICS) will be holding two Open Rehearsals on Mondays 5th and 12th September at Christchurch, The Grove, between 7.30 and 9.30pm. Prospective new members are invited to join officers and members for a chat and find out about the choir over tea and coffee at 7pm.
Rehearsals are led by our experienced Musical Director Jennifer Sterling and music will be provided. ICS is a non-auditioned choir and welcomes new voices of all types (SATB). We recommend a good level of music reading, although some members also use audio resources to aid their learning. Rehearsals will start with Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony. Other concerts this season include Handel’s Messiah, Goodall’s Eternal Light and Gounod’s St Cecilia Mass. Singing with ICS offers exciting performance opportunities to sing some of the best choral music ever written alongside outstanding professional soloists and orchestras.
