New Members

Contact us….via our Secretary if you wish to join us.

We welcome new members, no voice test is necessary.  We especially welcome young singers. If you enjoy singing, come and join us at rehearsal to try us out. Rehearsals:  Mondays 7.30 – 9.30 pm (September to April) at Christchurch, The Grove. Ilkley.

Registration. We ask all members to check their registration details each year to allow us to keep our records up-to-date. Please ensure that you let us have your current email address which will enable us to correspond with you quickly when necessary and to save printing costs.

Concert places. The combined Ilkley and Otley membership is in the order of 160. The seating capacity at St Margaret’s, Ilkley and OtleyParishChurch is limited to a maximum concert choir of no more than 120. In the event that we have to allocate places, preference will be given to members who have a good rehearsal attendance record and who sign up early. It is important that singers attend the two pre-concert joint rehearsals.

Handel’s Messiah. Each member is required to purchase their own copy of this piece: The Watkins Shaw version.

Subscriptions. The annual subscription for 2007/8 is £65: payable at the first or second rehearsals (to Mary Walker or Bob Ryan). (Also make sure that your details are accurately represented on the registration form) Gift Aid makes a good contribution to our revenues. If you pay income tax and have not yet signed the Gift Aid form, please consider doing so.

Dress Code for concerts

Ladies – long sleeved white blouse, full length black skirt, no bright jewellery, shawls (if necessary) must be white.

Gentlemen – dinner jacket, black bow tie
