Established in 1949, Ilkley Choral Society continues the longstanding tradition of bringing music to the local community in association with our sister Society at Otley.

We celebrate our 60th anniversary this season with a performance of the ever popular Handel’s “Messiah” which was the first work performed by the Society in December 1949!   We close the Jubilee season with a special concert of Karl Jenkins’ and John Rutter pieces.  An added bonus for this Jubilee year is the concert we will share with Otley Choral Society in celebration of composer Andrew Carter’s birthday ( see Programme page).

Do have a look at  History page 2 for a list of our wide repertoire.

We are fortunate to have a modern rehearsal venue in Christchurch on The Grove and the lovely surroundings of St. Margaret’s Church for concerts in Ilkley.

We welcome new members, no voice test is necessary.  We especially welcome young singers and those rare commodities - tenors!

If you enjoy singing, come and join us at rehearsal* to try us out.  If you enjoy listening to live music, why not come to our next concert? (check the Programme page for dates)

*Rehearsals:  Mondays 7.30 – 9.30 pm (September to April) at Christchurch, The Grove.
